Racist?
- Global Stories
What is it to be a racist in Denmark or Sweden in 2016? Through Facebook the Afro-Danish performer Sara Traore has contacted people with racist beliefs. The performance mixes documentary and theatre and show persons Sara has talked to. Sara plays 19-year old Samir who ”hates Danes” and 27-year old Jane who is afraid of ”wogs”.
The performance touches tensions in our society, a refugee program in crisis, biased media ad human distrust. With warmness and hope the performance examines why so many people are afraid of each other – and as audience you have to take a stand in the immigration debate.
The performance is a part of the project Shadowland, arranged by Swedish ASSITEJ and funded by Svenska Postkodstiftelsen.
The performance is in danish and the venue is in Helsingør, Denmark.
Toldkammeret is close to the ferry port in Helsingør. The ferry departures every 20 minute från Helsingborg and takes approximately 20 minutes.
