Listening Party is a party on stage and the hosts are a big group of teenagers, aged 13-17 years old. The group is going to play their favourite music. Sometimes they will sing along or dance along, cry along or simply hang out and listen to music in support and celebration of one other and teenage hood. Sometimes they will share some stories, talk about their music and about themselves.
The stage will be theirs, the words are theirs, they have the power - even though it's just during the show - it's a teenage party and they cry if they want to.

Motivation of the international jury:
A group of about fifteen teenagers have a party and we in the audience can watch how the event unfolds. An achingly sweet resonance evolves from the youngsters’ courage and vulnerability. It’s with an intimate rawness of emotion that they give of themselves in the secureness of the space that the choreographer Ásrún Magnúsdóttir has created. The Listening Party is a powerful reminder of the sheer joy of dance and music, that no-one should be denied access to it, and of everyone’s opportunity to be an individual as well as to share community in our world.
